Amanda + Cameron
Portland Oregon and Destination Wedding Photographer | Elle M Photography
Photographing Amanda and Cameron’s first glance pictures in Nauvoo, Illinois was such a wonderful experience. Their love is patient and sweet and kind. On their first date, over two years ago, Cameron invited Amanda to make s’mores with him in his car. They roasted mini marshmallows over a tea light, then placed them and a chocolate chip between Golden Grahams. They dated until Amanda left on her mission to Washington D.C. Before she left, Cameron sent her on a scavenger hunt that led her to heart shaped tea lights with a gift (not a wedding ring) but a promise to take her on 26 dates, a through z, and they picked up where they left off when Amanda returned. They were so fun to photograph; completely in love and so fun and playful.
I flew in early on Tuesday and returned to Portland late Wednesday night, so we were able to photograph at sunrise and sunset, which I love! Amanda’s mom Sylvia made her stunning dress and veil. I could not believe the detail in the lace, on her train and veil! Sylvia is AMAZING! She was also my wonderful assistant, since I don’t travel with an assistant, and she even remembered to pack lots of food for Amanda and Cameron on our whirlwind two day photoshoot.
On day 2 we took a break half way through and ran into the a cappella group Vocal Point. They were so sweet to serenade Amanda and Cameron before they left for their rehearsals.
I love photographing in new locations and the Nauvoo Temple and Nauvoo skies were absolutely amazing! As the sun set the sky was very blue, then turned a beautiful pink, then a deep amber! The colors of the sunset lit up the temple and we were able to capture Amanda and Cameron on the steps of the temple when they were a glowy pink, then again when the sky turned a beautiful, deep amber!
Amanda and Cameron, your love is amazing! Thank you for inviting me to capture such special moments.
I hope you enjoy every moment of your happily ever after!
